I feel sorry for the teachers who had to deal with me because I was a kid whose head was going at 2,000 miles an hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMy son was diagnosed at the same time as me. When they told me it was hereditary, I started crying because for eight years I hadn&#8217;t understood certain things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI thought, to put it bluntly, that he wasn&#8217;t listening to me and didn&#8217;t care. I would say, \u2018Mate, I&#8217;m talking to you, respect me.\u2019 But the reality was that it wasn&#8217;t that \u2014 it was simply how his brain worked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhen I had to explain it to him, I said: \u2018You&#8217;re special, just like Daddy.
